Our Dragonfly Group
Cuddle Bugs Kindergarten & Pre-Prep in Bundaberg offers a pre-kindergarten program, also known as our Dragonfly group, that caters to the youngest members of our community, specifically children aged eighteen months to three years old. This early years program offers a supportive and engaging environment that nurtures the development of essential foundational skills.
Pre-Kindergarten Program Overview
In our Dragonfly group, each classroom benefits from the expertise of a lead educator and an experienced assistant educator. To ensure a seamless and responsive educational experience, we also have floating staff available during peak activity periods. These staff members provide additional support across all rooms, giving every child the opportunity to receive the attention and care they need.

Learning New Skills
Our program is designed to help children develop a variety of basic skills that are important for their early growth. Building trusting relationships with educators is a key focus, as it helps create a secure and nurturing environment for each child. Effective communication is promoted to help children express their needs and interact confidently with others.
Self-help skills are introduced to foster independence, allowing children to complete simple tasks on their own. Decision-making is supported through guided choices and activities, helping children learn to make appropriate choices. Additionally, we focus on growing children’s knowledge through engaging activities and fostering the development of friendships with their peers.
Developmental Assessment
At the end of the year, each child in the Dragonfly group receives a detailed developmental checklist. This checklist provides a detailed report of the child’s achievements and progress throughout the year. It serves as a valuable tool for families to understand their child’s developmental milestones and areas of growth.
